Removing Restrictions -By reducing pumping losses you can increase the overall velocity of the exhaust gas coming out of the cylinders and make more power! We settled on a final tube diameter of 1.75 primaries and huge 2″ secondaries which flow into one final 3″ collector. This gradual step up in tube diameter ensures you will have great flow up to power levels of 850+whp. The Tri-Y design is a whole-different animal than a traditional 4-into-1. The unique aspect being that the combination of 1.75″/2″ tubes supports horsepower levels at and above the range of a standard 1.875″ 4-into-1 design.
Mid-Pipes with or without Catalytic Converters The mid-pipe will house your cats should you choose to run them. The cats being offered use a high flow Metal Matrix design, are extremely high quality and made in the USA, so you can be sure they will last you quite a long time. Typically you can expect more HP with a cat-less setup, but the cats are great for reducing some exhaust emissions, cutting down on both the strong fuel smell from a true performance tune and also slightly muffling the sound of an aggressive exhaust. For the vast majority of applications the catalytic converters are the only option. All of our Pfadt Tri-Y header products are intended for off-road use only, but for those looking for that last extra bit of HP a non-catted mid-pipe is available. The cats will be welded directly into the mid-pipe instead of welded and bolted to a flange, we chose to do this because it eliminates one more potential spot for leaks and misalignment. Our kits have the option of adding 2 or 4 Oxygen Sensor Extenders depending on if you have a mid-pipe with or without catalytic converters.
Ease of Installation
Our headers were designed from the ground up with numerous features to aid an easier installation than any competing products. This includes bullet-nosed flange bolts which are correctly sized without the use of washers, that come with the kit for an easy fastening solution. CNC-flanges that result in NO more bloody knuckles during install. A 1-piece mid-pipe design for precise no-nonsense fit. We even include clips for the O2 sensor extensions that locate the harness away from your hot exhaust pipes to avoid damage. In addition, everything has been designed throughout to ensure you will not have any exhaust leaks. Features like V-Band clamps which maintain an air-tight seal from the header to the mid-pipe, optional Cometic Multi-Layer Steel gaskets to guarantee a perfect seal to the head, and all hardware included for the rear slip-fit joints to your OEM or aftermarket exhaust. This is all on top of front to back HAND TIG WELDED fabrication which leaves zero-room for gaps and provides a precise fitment every single time.
